Simcoe County Band
The SIMCOE COUNTY BAND (SCB) relocated to Barrie six years ago and is available to provide musical entertainment to Barrieand its surrounding communities. This group of 25 to 30 volunteer musicians have participated in a wide range of community venues and events. For example:

Our Conductor of Music, Mr. John Myers joined the band in 2006 and brings to the band an enormous amount of talent, experience and musical versatility. John has now retired from teaching at the Aurora High School. He comes to the band upon completion of a distinguished career teaching Instrumental Music at a number of elementary and secondary schools in York Region. His academic background includes a Fine Arts degree, a Bachelor of Education from York University, a Masters of Education degree from Brock University as well as having a specialist certification in Physical Education, Special Education and Music from the University of Toronto.
Simcoe County Band will be playing at the Court House parking lot from 12:00pm - 1:00pm. This event is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bradford.

NEW FOR 2011!Gabe SalemBorn of musical and theatrical genes, Gabe is driven by his creative interest in the arts. Performing Beach Boys songs on a toy ukulele, Gabe earned his first instrument. Driven to master his voice, Gabe sought superior coaching from a pupil of Canada’s own operatic superstar, Maureen Forester.
Gabe established virtuoso musical roots playing bass in a jazz band combo. This challenge resulted in the achievement of four Music Fest International gold medals, in Vancouver, Toronto, Boston, and Melbourne. A voyage to Brazil provided opportunity to perform an extensive and extremely well received yearlong acoustic tour through most of the country. Gabe developed verbal communication skills serving for three years as an on-air FM radio personality, learning to buoy his audience under any circumstance. Gabe has accumulated years of professional experience on guitars, keyboards, vocals, and as a front man, yet he retains maxi- mum confidence working solo. Gabe Salem interactively and playfully accommodates his audience responding to and fulfilling their whims and fantasies. His natural charm and charisma round out the skill set of this seasoned professional headline entertainer |
