Emcee Tim Norton, Main Stage
Tim has been involved in stage work for almost 25 years; as an actor, improvisor, director, producer and public speaker. His latest project was the formation of Triptych Lounge Comedy Improv, which he performed with and produced from 2007-2009. He has since refocused his personal time on his career as a programming consultant and bettering himself through education and writing. He is an active member of Toastmasters, having recently received his CC designation, and is VP of Education for the Speak for Success group here in Bradford. Most importantly, he is a devoted husband to Melanie and father to Nathaniel and Kyle
Emcee Doug Armstrong, Main Stage
Doug Armstrong has been a Toastmaster for 7 years. Doug is just finishing up his Advanced Toastmaster Gold.
Doug has worked, lived or visited over 60 countries around the world and has a good understanding of other countries and cultures. This has given Doug a global perspective and he knows first hand the challenges of living and working in other countries.
Toastmasters allows Doug to refine his speaking and listening skills as well as help other to overcome the fear of public speaking.
Doug and his family are originally from Canada but spent 17 years in Africa and 4 in England before returning to Canada in 2002.

Emcee Jason Allin, Main Stage
Jason Allin was born and raised in Bradford, Ontario. With a strong dedication to performance at an early age, Jason began honing his creative skills in High School as most actors do. From the common Drama club play to being graduating class valedictorian, Jason was prepared for a greater audience in community theatre.Quickly proving himself with ensemble and chorus rolls in theatre's most prized musicals such as "Bells are Ringing", "Pirates of Penzance", and "My Fair Lady", Jason steps into major leading roles that rely on his talent, previous training and experience.Performing demanding roles such as Nathan Detroit in "Guys and Dolls", Seven leading roles in "Little Me", Marcellus Washburn in "The Music Man", The Emcee in the classic musical "Cabaret", and most recently while making the step to professional theatre, "The Gentleman Caller - Jim O'Connor" in "The Glass Menagerie" Jason continues to out-do each previous performance as a demonstration of a lasting trend. Jason has also made the leap to television and the film stretching further into performance. Jason now adds the title "Playwright" to his credits. NEW FOR 2011! Rory " The Gnome, Leprechaun and Robotic Robognome" Gaudon
This is Sean "The Canadian" Leprechaun's 4th appearance at our Town of Bradford's Carrot Fest. For his first hour of our festivities this Leprechaun will be socializing on the streets handing out free lucky charms. If you ask him to introduce himself you'll find out he's quite the slapstick comedian with his hard luck story full of ironic humour and musical inserts from a recorder. Sean's famous for reciting short, educational and comical rhyming stories and now has colourful 11 by 14 inch cartoon illustrations to captivate his audience. If you like poetry and Irish Blessings, just ask to hear one while he's reshaping balloon animals and objects for the children. In the evening there will be a Mechanical Mime called The Robotic Robognome also portrayed by Rory Gaudon from www.mydwarfsworld.ca.
Dave Pooley - Dooley Kids Show...Carrot Sticks

Musicians Association since 1966 is a Humber College Music Award winner and band leader, a graduate of child development studies and music teacher.
Dave Pooley is the originator of the "Dooley KidShow" and "Spontaneous Kids FunBand". As character "Dooley", Dave has travelled as far as Shanghai and Singapore on cultural missions.
Dave now services South Central Ontario summer and fall festivals and

The Twisted Ones
Debbie is a Fearless Balloon Genius!!! Her jaw dropping balloon creations will be at Carrot Fest! Debbie, the globetrotting leader just returning from a month long Asian tour, will amaze and astound everyone at the festival with her Balloon Extravaganza Show. She is not only the first woman to hold the title of World Balloon Champion, but is also an international instructor, balloon stage star, balloon fashion designer, and sponsored by the largest balloon manufacturer in the world. Come to Carrot Fest you will be amazed at what you will see.
Keep your eyes open for Debbie, as she roams through Carrot Fest stopping every 20 minutes at a group, twisting balloons until she has gathered a crowd. Randomly choosing one person at a time, using a guessing game or treasure request, she will turn the volunteer into a balloon creature right before your very eyes. They may turn into butterflies, angels, monkeys, spiders, the selection is limitless. Then, after making a few costumes she is off to the next crowd. You never know what you will see when The Twisted Ones are around

ILLMASK Breakdance Crew

ILLMASK is a combination of two of Montreal's finest Bboy crews "Illmatic Styles" and "Red Mask".They've had the opportunity to compete and perform all over the world, Appearing in the Top 35 acts on NBC’s hit series “America’s Got Talent”,Also participating in the "Just for Laughs festival" and winning the International competition "LA Battle" in 2006. They have have won multiple awards as one of Canada’s Top B-boy Crews on both a competition and Performance level. Recently, they've had the honnor of taking part in the opening ceremony of the 2010 Vancouver Paralympics.
Their show consists of high impact energy, dynamic acrobatics, and a little bit of comedy. They inspire our audiences with their style and motives and share the message of inclusion and limitless possibilities. One of their members Luca “Lazylegz” Patuelli was born with a disability making him walk and dance on crutches from a young age. His participation in their crew has strengthened our bond into a real team and has helped push the boundaries of their movements. KidMagic Zach Gauthier - Bradford's Own Magician!
Zachary Gauthier is an accomplished young performer who
loves to thrill and amaze with his magic. Whether the occasion is a small birthday party, fundraiser or larger special event Zachary takes great pride in designing a show that will appeal to children and audiences of all ages and sizes!
At sixteen years of age, Zachary is one of the youngest professional magicians in Canada. He is proud to be a card carrying member of the Canadian Association of Magicians (C.A.M.) which is dedicated to the promotion and encouragement of magic & magicians in Canada. It is important to note that C.A.M. is the representative body for the FISM in Canada which is considered to be as important to magic as the Olympics are to the world of sports! www.kidmagic.ca

Aidan OrangeAidan Orange is filled with organs, many of them vital. The use of these organs has allowed him to perform a number or interesting yo-yo and contortion tricks and has not prevented him from balancing large objects on his face. Aidan has travelled all over the world performing. The farthest being the 31 hours travel to perform for the President of Singapore, kicking off the Singapore River Busker Fest. He has also made a number of notable TV appearances including a performance on The Late Show with David Letterman. Other appearances include The Daily Planet (Discovery Channel), Much Music, Breakfast Television and ”Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium” starring Dustin Hoffman and Natalie Portman.

Brant MatthewsNicknamed "The Fire Guy", Brant Matthews puts on a fun yet nerve racking event as he plays with fire. Between juggling and breathing fire, Brant also does skateboarding tricks among much more with flame in hand. Both a serious professional and a comedian, he makes for an excellent entertainer!

Stilt DancerEzra Houser was introduced to the art of stilt-dancing by Toronto’s The SwizzleStick Theatre in 1997.
He has played Moko-Jumbie (stilted in costume) in Caribana, Trinidad’s Carnival, introduced the art form to the Tapati Carnival of Easter Island, and is a local regular at Toronto’s Scotiabank Buskerfest. Stilts have been his passport to a magical life in the arts, and he spent five successful years managing and performing with SAFMOD, an eclectic dance-music ensemble in Cleveland, Ohio. He has performed at hundreds of venues and taught thousands of people to walk on stilts. Now freelancing under the name Stiltdancer, Ezra continues to strap on his long legs to show people that you don’t have to just walk on stilts…you can dance! |
